Minecraft AFK proxies: options and setup

A proxy gives your account a different IP address when it joins a server. You'll want one when you run several accounts on the same server, because many servers limit how many players can join from one IP.

Options#

OptionPlansGood for
Included proxyAllOne or two accounts. Nothing to set up.
Premium proxyStandard, ProServers that block VPNs.
Your own proxiesAllProxies you already pay for.
Import from Webshare or IPRoyalAllBringing in lots of your own proxies at once.
Dedicated proxyAdd-onAn IP that's only yours, billed monthly.

Dedicated proxies come as IPv4 or residential. Residential ones are the least likely to be blocked.

Give each account its own proxy#

Open the server folder's menu, choose Server Settings, then Proxies.

  • Set a default proxy for the whole server in Server Details. Accounts use it unless you give them their own.
  • Pick a proxy for any account, or select several and use Spread across proxies to share them out evenly.
  • A new proxy applies the next time the account connects.

Add your own proxy#

Open Proxies in the sidebar. Your proxy needs to be SOCKS5, which your provider will confirm.

  1. Add a proxy and give it a name.
  2. Enter the address, port, username and password from your provider.
  3. Click Test to check it works.

To bring in lots at once, use Import from Webshare or Import from IPRoyal on the same page.

Not sure you've got the details right? Paste them into the proxy checker first.

Bedrock accounts#

Bedrock accounts need your own proxy that supports UDP, for example from IPRoyal. The included, premium and dedicated proxies don't work with Bedrock yet. See Java vs Bedrock.

Proxy not working?#

  • Run the test again. Providers sometimes change or expire addresses.
  • Double-check the username and password.
  • Try connecting without the proxy. If that works, the proxy is the problem.

Keep your account online while you are away
